Botswana Covid-19 Variant and What It Means to Skilled Workers

Posted 26 Nov 21

New travel rules have come into force for those travelling from southern African countries. What does this mean for this migrating to work in the UK as skilled care workers?
The cost of getting to the other side shall now certainly increase as all new migrants will now have to isolate for a period once they arrive. Whilst the details are yet to be published this will almost certainly cost £2,000 more in hotel/isolation fees, plus the loss of income for the duration of the isolation.
This new development affects those migrants from Zimbabwe, South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswathini, and Namibia.
